CAT Question Papers [PDF] | Past Year CAT Papers | Previous Year CAT Papers with Solutions [1991-2024]
On this page we are providing downloadable PDFs of all CAT Questions Papers (Previous years) with answer keys and detailed solutions, from 1991 to 2024. CAT 2017, 2018 and 2019 papers were conducted in 2 slots.
CAT 2020 to CAT 2024 papers were conducted in 3 slots. The Question papers for these years are available slot wise. In addition to this, we have provided video solutions for the CAT 2024 question paper.
We strongly advise all serious CAT aspirants to scan through all the CAT questions papers one by one to get the feel of the toughness level. At the same time it is very important for all aspirants to go through CAT syllabus, in order to understand the gradual changes in CAT Paper pattern as well.
For serious aspirants who would like to test themselves with the actual CAT papers, we are also providing separate section-wise questions with solutions for CAT 2018, CAT 2019, CAT 2020, CAT 2021, CAT 2022, CAT 2023 and CAT 2024.
For your reference, CAT question papers before 2009 were paper pencil based. From 2009 onward CAT has gone online and since then there is drastic change in the paper pattern.
But after going online, CAT did not release its paper for the first few years. We don’t have any official paper of the CAT exam from 2009-2016. CAT started releasing CAT papers from 2017 onward. All the CAT papers from 2017- 2024 are available. If you come across any CAT paper between 2009-2017, rest assured that these papers are unofficial or are based on memory.
We have seen that the questions that come in CAT papers are different from the ones that come in mocks. Moreover, the questions that come in mocks are either too complex or too easy, unlike the ones that come in actual CAT, whose questions are logical. In addition to this, we have seen that the past year CAT papers cover a syllabus with which you must be familiar. The CAT does not define its syllabus, and we have no other source except the previous year CAT papers to get some understanding of what exactly the CAT syllabus is all about.
How to effectively use Previous year CAT Papers?
To effectively use these papers, you must first go through the basic concepts of each and every section. Once you have gone through the basic concepts, you should solve the sectional tests of some reputed institute. While solving the sectional tests, you must ensure that you touch upon the questions of all difficulty levels. The past year CAT papers have questions of varying difficulty levels. Your hold on concepts and your ability to solve questions of varying difficulty will ensure that you solve the questions from the past year cat papers confidently.
