AT 2024 Question Paper saw a minor change in terms of pattern and overall difficulty. While the difficulty level of CAT 2022 and CAT 2023 was quite tough, the difficulty level of CAT 2022 was one the easier side. We saw the following changes in terms of pattern:
In the VARC section, we did not see a single question on parajumbles. Out of the 8 VA questions, 3 came from Para Summary, 3 from Fill in the blanks and 2 from Odd One Out. From the RC part we had 16 questions as usual. The total number of questions in the VARC section, however, remained the same at CAT 2024.

In the LRDI section, the number of questions increased by 2. There were three sets with 4 questions in each set, and 2 sets with 5 questions in each. Thus the total number of questions in the LRDI section went up from 20 to 22.
The QA section also had the same number of questions, but the distribution of the questions from different topics saw a minor change. There were a greater number of questions from Algebra than from Arithmetic, though the difference was not very significant. There were around 10 questions from Algebra, 9 from Arithmetic, 2 from Geometry and 1 from Number system. Usually the number of questions from Arithmetic used to be more than Algebra. The recent QA pattern tells us that students should no longer worry much about Geometry and Higher Maths. Number System is still important because the basics of Number System is of great use in Algebra and Arithmetic. The difficulty of the QA section was a shade lower than that of 2023.
